Rae Indigo is a yogic athlete and instructor experienced in inspiring athletes, martial artists, beginner yogis, dancers, military personnel and the elderly, with special attention to healing sequences for people in recovery. She specializes in alignment and corrective techniques that allow students to advance their physical health and understanding of asana, develop yogic focus and find inner awareness. With a 20+-year background in Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga, she understands and instructs students on balancing and purifying the energetic, physical and mental bodies.

Rae instructs students on the use of proper breathing techniques to achieve better access to illusive poses, which also brings stress relief and is a gateway to compassion both on and off the mat. She is a ERYT 500, International Fitness Association Personal Trainer and Aerobics Certification, Instructor for American Nutrition Institute and Martial Artist with over 15 years teaching experience. It is her goal as a yoga teacher to make the study of this ancient art something that is understandable, memorable, and available to the modern student arriving with nothing more than the courage to unroll their mat, turn inward and begin practice.

I specialize in alignment and corrective techniques that allow students to advance their individual skill sets while improving their own practices. Specifically, using blocks, props, and repetition to guide and strengthen the body, attaining greater mobility and preparing the student to find stillness in the postures. I also instruct students on the use of proper breathing techniques to achieve better access to illusive poses, providing a useful technique for stress relief and inner compassion when they are away from the mat.

It is my goal as a yoga instructor to make the challenging study of this ancient art something that is understandable, memorable, and available to the modern student arriving with nothing more than the courage to unroll their mat, and begin practice.

I have been studying Ashtanga and Iyengar Yoga for 14 years, and Hatha Yoga for 20 and have had the opportunity to teach for over 13 years. Most recently, I have been teaching at SOUTHCOM, and before that I taught at United Studios of Self Defense in Las Vegas. Instruction via weekly group classes was provided to Black Belt Martial Artists and their students to accomplish greater range and flexibility, and also to develop internal awareness techniques that aid in retaining equilibrium while sparring and during tournaments. Private instruction was provided when needed. In addition, personalized programs were developed for teaching weekly private and small group classes for individuals in their homes.
